If you have read Roald Dahl's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or you've seen either of the two film adaptions Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder, or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory starring Johnny Depp you know the meaning of a Golden Ticket. It stands for once-in-a-lifetime kind of opportunity, exposure to the inner workings of a company that few others have seen, and walking away with the ultimate prize that the company can offer, the best of its product. Panini has their own version of the Golden Ticket it offers the same things.
Hidden inside boxes of 2010-11 Panini Gold Standard Basketball there are 5 Golden Tickets to be found, the same number of tickets that Wonka issued. For a sports card collector and fan of the NBA, the prizes to be claimed are amazing. Here is a short description of all five.
1 - Your own Meet and Greet with Kobe Bryant.
2 - A shoot around with Wes Johnson.
3 - Attend the upcoming NBA Rookie Photo Shoot and work the event with Panini.
4 - Attend the NBA All-Star Game as a guest of Panini.
5 - Build your own box of National Treasures with the cards of your choice.
No doubt, someone with deep pockets will pull a Veruca Salt, busting cases of Gold Standard, but as the story goes, even those of us that are Charlie Bucket can catch a break.
