2012 SAGE HIT High Series Football picks up where Low Series
ended. Together they form the
complete 2012 SAGE HIT series. Not much difference from High Series to Low Series in terms of card design and
number of inserts. So if you want
an in depth review after reading this, use this link to get to our review of
Low Series.
As in past years, the big differences in High Series as compared to Low Series is the number of hits per
box with 9 autographs, which is 3 more than what is offered with Low Series, 3
less total packs than in Low Series and exclusive RG3, Robert Griffin III
autograph cards.
For the purposes of review, we classify HIT High Series as
trading cards. Each box contains
27 – 5 card packs with the promise of 9 autographs per box.
Here are some of the cards we pulled.

Overall Look
As we mentioned before, this really is a step up in design
for HIT Series with some of the best looking base and autograph cards we’ve
seen from SAGE. We really like the
look of this year’s Artistry insert set.
The handwriting analysis on the backs of the Write Stuff cards adds
another dimension of understanding about the players that you wont find any other place.
Quality and Variety of Players
This is a continuation of HIT's excellent checklist for
prospecting. The best of the best
make it to the Write Stuff and Artistry inserts and the unannounced Sophomore
Autos give you a chance to snag an autograph from the best of last year’s
rookie class.
Do the hits hold up?
As with all prospecting products, the proof of how the hits
hold up comes down the road a bit. How good your autos are will be determined not only by where these players are selected in the 2012 NFL draft, it will come from how these
players do in their rookie season and beyond. But with 9 autographs per box and some of the anticipated top draft
choices signing, High series provides some of the best odds that you will pull a future great.
Will you want to collect them all?
Each box yields at least one base set but you will want to
pick up the complete Artistry and Write Stuff insert sets too.
Rating
5 out of 5
2012 SAGE HIT High Series Football delivers a fantastic set
of cards at a great price point that will keep rookie prospectors satisfied.
