2012 Press Pass FanFare NASCAR Trading Cards Box Break Recap And Review

Press Pass FanFare returns, now in its second year and is still an excellent NASCAR release.  This is still a base set/big hit premium product with lots of bang for the buck.

We classify 2012 Press Pass FanFare as premium cards.  Each hobby box contains 8 – 5 card packs.  Each pack contains either one Autograph card or Magnificent Materials race-used memorabilia card., for a box total of 4 Autographs and 4 Memorabilia cards.

Overall Look
I’ve always been a fan of the design team at Press Pass, but this year’s base cards seem a little over foiled.  Photo selection is not as vivid as last year’s portrait base cards.  That foiling extends to the Power Rankings inserts that are foiled and mirror finished.  I like the decision for go with a vertical card for the autographs, but I would have been more pleased if Press Pass had left the memorabilia hits vertical too, instead of rotating them horizontally.  The Die-Cuts look really good.

Quality and Variety of Drivers and Subsets
This is a nice mix of the different NASCAR series and some young upcoming talent.  You’ll find a good combo of first time autograph cards and Sprint Cup driver hit cards per box.

Do the Hits satisfy?
One major change from last year is the exclusion of a bonus single hit card pack but it is hardly noticed when you are getting 8 hits from the box.  On card autos work well and all materials are for memorabilia cards are represented.

Will you keep coming back for more?
Boxes of FanFare are quite addictive.  Knowing each pack contains a hit certainly puts you in a “ripping zone.”  It is easy to see multi box purchases with this one.

Rating
4 out of 5

With 8 hits a box, 2012 Press Pass FanFare NASCAR cards are a great value for hit seekers..
