2012 Topps Football Box Break Recap and Review

There have been some changes to the foundation Topps Football release, the most noticeable being the departure from mimicking the design of the current year’s flagship baseball release. All of these changes and additions provide more than enough content to appeal to all types of collectors.  With excellent photography, great looking inserts, 1957 style Rookie cards, 1965 Tall Boys and strong hits make 2012 Topps Football a must purchase.

2012 Topps Football falls under our classification of trading cards. There are several configurations of retail and hobby exclusive packaging.  We opened a hobby box of 36 packs with 10 cards per pack with the promise of one autograph or relic card.

Overall Look
A dedicated design for the base set is a welcomed change.   As to be expected, the photography is excellent.  There is so much to like here from the Acetate diecut Super Bowl MVPs to the 1965 Tall Boys, the QB Immortals plaques, QB Milestones, NFL Field Generals and  NFL Captain Patches.

Quality and Variety of Players
The checklist is quite extensive, pleasing a wide range of collectors.  A strong Rookie class leaves plenty to chase, autos and photo variation SPs.

Do the hits hold up?
The majority of hits here are the NFL Premiere rookies but the wide variety of other hits makes this a great collection to chase.

Will you want to collect them all?
Definitely.  If you don’t go the complete base Factory set route, you’ll want to assemble the 440 base cards, various inserts, and probably the 1957 style Rookie cards and1965 Tall Boys.

Rating
5 out of 5

2012 Topps Football a great set to build. for both beginning and seasoned collectors.
