2012 Topps Football Complete Set Box Break and Review

A completed boxed set of cards seems counter intuitive for collectors who are set builders.  But one cannot deny the convenience of have the entire base set in one convenient box.  As with most recent collections, 2012 Topps Football Complete Set NFL Trading Cards offers all the base cards with a bonus found exclusively in the product   The departure from mimicking the design of the current year’s flagship baseball release makes for a great design and a desirable set to own.

Clearly, this package gets classification as a boxed set for the purposes of this review. Inside you’ll find the complete 440 card base set, no alternate photo versions or inserts, and each boxes contains a pack of five Orange-Bordered parallels.

For the most part, this review will mimic our previous review of 2012 Topps Football because the cards are the same.

Here are some of the base set cards.

 Eli Manning, front and back
 Andrew Luck, front and back
Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Adrian Peterson
Robert Griffin III RG3, Doug Martin, Russell Wilson

Here are the 5 red-bordered parallels #.86.
 Marques Colston, front and back
 Eric Berry
Geno Atkins, Whitney Mercilus, DeVier Posey

Overall look
A dedicated design for the base set is a welcomed change.   As to be expected, the photography is excellent.

Does the checklist of players feel complete?
The checklist is quite extensive, pleasing a wide range of collectors.  A strong Rookie class enhances the collection.

Are there any bonus cards included?
Yes.  There are the 5 orange-bordered parallels. They are all numbered to 86. It could prove to be a difficult task to put together an entire orange-bordered set, but there should be a few brave souls out there willing to take on the task.

Boxed Set vs. Set Building
No doubt, these cards are fun to collect pack by pack, but having the complete packaged set is convenient.
