2012 Topps Prime Football Box Break Recap and Review

Topps Prime Football returns for 2012 and comes on strong.  The hit concentration is heavily on the Rookie class in auto, auto relic booklet cards and multiple tier level hit form.  With all of that hit goodness it is still hard to miss the amazing full bleed photograph that makes these base cards stand out.

Topps Prime Football falls under our premium cards category.  Each box contains 10 - 6 card packs and promises 1 Autograph, 1 Autographed Relic and 2 additional Relic cards.

Overall Look

These base cards are beautiful with full bleed photography, thick, well-finished hobby card stock and smart foiled accents.  This year’s backs are still minimalist, but more stylish than last year. Auto relic booklet cards and multiple tier level hits look great as well.

Quality and Variety of Players

At 150 base cards, you are getting the best of the best, both veteran and rookie players.  Thanks to the overall quality of the incoming rookie class and the bulk of hits coming from the players who attended the Rookie Premiere, the shortened hit checklist is of quality.

Do the Hits satisfy?

With well designed hits and the close to even distribution of “hot” to “wait and see” rookies, this is a satisfying break.

Will you keep coming back for more?

With a decent shot at some big rookie hits, Prime is an easy rebuy.  There is enough interest to keep collectors coming back for more.
