2013 Topps Tribute WBC Baseball Box Break Recap And Review

The Topps Tribute line of products thrives most in baseball form.  Now the baseball line has been expanded to include a new release, 2013 Topps Tribute WBC Baseball.  Based on the World Baseball Classic, this release features some big name players representing their home counties.  This includes past and present players so the checklist includes autographs from names like Ripken Jr., Koufax, Mays, Cespedes, Darvish, Cabrera and Reyes.  There is even a redemption for a full sized Jersey from the 2009 World Baseball Classic.  All of this makes for a great first release.

2013 Topps Tribute WBC Baseball fits into our Premium Cards category.  This Hobby Exclusive comes with 6 packs per box, 5 cards per pack and 1 autographed card or relic card numbered to 99 or less in every pack.  Collectors should expect 4 Autographs and 2 relics per box.

Here are some of the cards we pulled.

Base Set
Jurickson Profar - Netherlands, front and back
Carlos Gonzalez - Venezuela, Eric Hosmer - USA, Jameson Taillon - Canada
Ryan Vogelsong - USA, Sergio Romo - Mexico, Yadier Molina - Puerto Rico

Overall Look
The base cards great with a fine mirror finish.  It’s very cool to see these familiar players in their country’s uniforms. The relic cards have some great patches.  One major difference for this issue of Tribute is with the autograph cards.  While the layout is pretty much the same, autographs are sticker based, but still look good.

Quality and Variety of Players
This is one of the more even-keeled checklists for a Tribute release.  This definitely makes for more balanced expectations.

Do the hits satisfy?
With four autographs per box and this balanced checklist, most collectors will be satisfy with what they find inside.  Hit one of the International Legends Autographs that are number to 15 and you will have a premiere card that could easily make the top of you collection.

Will you keep coming back for more?
Multiple box purchases are easy enough to see here.  Deeper pockets should consider case purchases on these.

Rating
4 1/2 out of 5

2013 Topps Tribute WBC Baseball makes a great debut with some super hits that are well distributed making this one of the more balanced Tribute products out there.
