2013 Rittenhouse Archives Falling Skies Season Two Premium Pack Break Recap and Review

When Steven Spielberg is attached to a movie or TV show, there is an expectation that it will be highly entertaining, and for good reason, he has a track record of delivering.  Currently on TNT is one of DreamWorks Television projects, Falling Skies, which has garnered critical accolades and a strong fan base.

Another company that consistently delivers on expectations is Rittenhouse Archives.  With the release of 2013 Rittenhouse Archives Falling Skies Season Two Trading cards in Premium Packs, everything a collector could want is there, including the lead actors autographs on a non-tiered, regular release basis which is a huge deal.  But for multiple box purchasers, there are still exclusive incentives to be collected.

These cards cover episodes 11 through 20 of the series.  This is the second premiere offering for the series so one would expect more releases in the future to cover upcoming seasons.  Fans of the show should be pleased.

Falling Skies Season Two falls under our premium cards category.  Each Premium Pack contains 3 Episode cards, 1 "Quotable" or International Poster Art Card, 2 Relic cards and 1 Autograph card. These can be purchased by the individual pack or as a 15-pack box.

Overall Look

The hit cards are really nicely done. Rittenhouse Archives has some of the best designed and executed autograph and relic cards in all of collecting, both sports and non-sports.   The episode cards include a nice synopsis.  While the poster art cards are very cool, the quotable cards can be a little sparse.  But that is a minor point that does not detract from the appeal of the set.

Quality and Variety of the checklist

This is a great size for a premium set, especially for a single season.  The autograph checklist is tight but one of the most complete out there.  Ever main actor has a card within the regular autograph set, very impressive.

Do the Hits satisfy?

This release really caters to the fans of the show when it comes to hits.  Normally a guest star of some stature might be added to make you “look the other way” when it comes to leaving out a principle player.  Since all of the main actors are accounted for satisfaction is guaranteed.  The relic hits are done the way I like them.  Relic swatch with a picture from the show of the actor in the costume piece on the front and a picture of the actual costume piece that the swatch was taken from on the back of the card.

Will you keep coming back for more?

Because of the limited number of cards in the set, fans of the show will want to complete it and will be ready to collect any future release.
