We classify 2013-14 Panini NBA Hoops Basketball as trading
cards. Each jumbo hobby box
contains 10 – 50 card packs for a whopping 500 cards with the promise of 2
autographs and 1 Memorabilia card per box.

Overall Look
The design of these cards has come into their own with nice
clean bordering that doesn’t upstage the great photographs. There is just the
right amount of foil to give it a bit of a punch. The backs of the cards are
complete and understated. There
are 7 insert sets that look really nice with Courtside and Board Members being
the simplest and among the more attractive largely due to the great
photography. Inserts NBA Hoops
Dreams and Hall of Fame Heroes are more design intensive with some very
appealing layouts. Class Action inserts are a lot of fun with pictures of the
top players in the NBA from their first year in the league.
Quality and Variety of Players
This is a fantastic checklist, the base set and the inserts,
quality and variety at it highest. 301 base cards come from 260 veteran, 40
rookies and 1 Miami Heat NBA Champions card. Absent this year are coach cards.
Do the hits hold up?
Artist Proof 1/1s, short printed Kobe’s All Rookie Team and
short printed Highlights Inserts can be considered hits in this release. With
200 different unnumbered base player autographs it is impossible to know the
ratios of star to backup autographs but at this price point it is hard to
complain. New this year are memorabilia cards with Prime parallels that are
very low numbered.
Will you want to collect them all?
Set builders should be all over this.
2013-14 Panini NBA Hoops Basketball should be in every set
builders collection.
