Today the New York Yankees gave fans attending their home game a Replica of their 1998 World Series Ring to celebrate winning it all 20 years ago. In 1998 the Yankees finished with a record of 114 wins, 48 loses for a winning PCT of .704. They almost shut out the Texas Rangers in the ALDS, allowing only 1 run in the 3 games, defeated the Cleveland Indians in 6 games in the ALCS and swept the World Series against the San Diego Padres.
As nearly perfect as this team was, it makes for a perfect opportunity for a Micro Collection.
I’ve covered two of the Core Four in articles earlier, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.
Both of these cards are from the 2017 Topps Transcendent Collection.
There are plenty of other opportunities to obtain certified on-card autographs for Jeter and Rivera, but I’m really happy with these.
I’m just as happy with my Pettitte and Posada. Both are from Topps Tier One.
Pettitte is from 2012 Topps Tier One.
Posada is from 2014 Topps Tier One..
In future posts we will go into depth about each player and coach on the 1998 roster and their contribution to the team.
